Healthy Beet and Blood Orange Smoothie

This Healthy Beet and Blood Orange Smoothie is packed healthy ingredients as well as oats and chia seeds to keep you full longer.

Servings: 2 servings
Ingredients
  • ½ cup oats
  • 2 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 blood oranges, peeled and slices, seeds removed
  • ½ cup yoghurt of your choice, preferably with a thick consistency
  • ½-1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon beet powder or ½ beet, peeled and chopped
  • ice
  • optional, maple syrup for sweetning
Instructions
  1. Start by adding the oats and chia seeds to a high speed blender. Blend until the oats have a corse sand consistency. Then add the rest of the ingredients except for the beet and the ice. start with half the milk and then add more as needed.

  2. Mix until it has a smooth consistency, then add the ice and extra almond milk if needed. Taste and add maple syrup if desired.

  3. Pour half the smoothie in 1 large, or 2 smaller glasses. Add the beet or beet powder to the remaining smoothie and mix until fully incorporated. Pour on top of the first layer and serve immediately.
