Servings: 6 donuts
Ingredients
Donuts
  • 170g (1 ½ cups) all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp each of cinnamon, cardamon and ginger
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or powder
  • 6 teaspoon greek yoghurt
  • 3 tablespoon vegetable oil of your choice
  • 5 tablespoon strong brewed chai tea at room temperature
Cinnamon sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinamon
  • 50 g (about ¼ cup) melted butter
Instructions
Donuts
  1. Preheat the oven to 175C (350F) and grease your donut pan.

  2. Combine the dry ingredients (flour to pinch of salt) in a bowl and the wet ingredients in a separate bowl. If you are using vanilla bean powder you add that to the dry ingredients.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients to the dry and mix just to combine, do not over mix or your donuts will be dense. The batter will be thick and its ok if you still have small lumps.

  4. Pour the batter in a ziplock bag and cut a small hole in one corner. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling them half way.

Bake the donuts for 10 minutes and let them cool in the pan before removing them.

  5. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Brush the donuts with the melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mix.

    Enjoy!
