Substitutions and variations
- Tomatoes – instead of sun dried tomatoes packed in oil, you can use dry ones from a bag. Soak them in hot water until soft before adding to the blender.
- Basil – tomato and basil go so well together. The fresh basil will give this sun dried tomato salad dressing the best flavor, but frozen basil can also be used.
- Spicy – for a spicier sun-dried tomato vinaigrette recipe, add more chili or a few dashes of tabasco to taste.
- Lemon juice – Can be replaced with vinegar, either red wine, white wine, or apple cider vinegar.
