Add all the ingredients, except the water, to a small bowl.
Whisk well, it might split or get hard to stir to start. Just keep whisking until it is smooth and lighter in color.
Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency.
Taste and add more salt, pepper or maple syrup to taste. Stir in some optional sesame seeds.
Hint: Depending on the quality and thickness of the tahini, less or more water will be needed. Add it a little at a time and stir well before adding more. The tahini dressing will become creamier the more you stir it.

- Spicy – for a spicy maple tahini sauce, add a little hot chili flakes or a few dashes of tabasco to taste.
- Lemon juice – Can be replaced with vinegar, either red wine, white wine, or apple cider vinegar. You can also make this into a lime tahini dressing by using lime juice instead of the lemon juice.
- Herbs – add some fresh chopped herbs like parsley, cilantro or basil to make a basil tahini dressing.
Add this delicious creamy tahini dressing to any salad or a bean salad like this delicious Chickpea tahini salad.
