Hot Honey Roasted Brussels Sprouts is a great side for any meal and for the holidays. They are packed with flavor and a little sweet and spicy from the hot honey. You can also use normal honey mixed with a little chili flakes if you don’t have hot honey, or if you like to have a milder dish.

These hot honey Brussels sprouts are easy to make, all you need are just a few pantry ingredients that are listed below.

- Brussels sprouts, washed, stalks trimmed and cut in half lengthwise.
- Hot honey or honey mixed with red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
- Olive oil, or other oil of choice, avocado oil is another healthy alternative.
- Spices, garlic powder, sweet paprika powder, sea salt and ground black pepper.
- Parsley, optional, but a little chopped parsley tastes great as a topping.

Instructions
This roasted Brussels sprouts with hot honey recipe is really easy to make on a baking sheet in the oven. Follow the instruction below with step-by-step photos. For the full written instructions, see the recipe card at the bottom.
- Step 1: In a small bowl, stir together the hot honey, olive oil and spices.
- Step 2: Trim the stems of the brussels sprouts, also remove any browned or damaged eaves, and cut in half lengthwise. Add them to a sheet pan.
- Step 3: Pour over the brussel sprouts and stir until well coated. Spread them out in an even layer.
- Step 4: Roast in the oven, stirring once, until crispy and fork tender.
Serve hot topped with some extra flaky sea salt, chopped parsley and a drizzle of extra hot honey if desired. Enjoy!
Hint: The roasting time depends on how large the brussel sprouts are. Check the sprouts at the 20 min mark, adding on a little extra time if necessary.
Substitutions and Variations
- Herbs – Top these roasted Brussels sprouts are topped with some chopped parsley, but some sage or thyme are other great alternatives.
- Spicy – The hot honey will add a nice hint of spice. If you like a spicier side dish, add some chili flakes to taste.
- Oil – Instead of olive oil, avocado oil is a great alternative.
- Cheese – Add some crumbled feta cheese or goats cheese for a salty and tangy flavour. Some grated parmesan can also be added at the end of the cook time, let it melt and get a little crispy.
- Vegan – to make these roasted brussels sprouts vegan, use maple syrup mixed with chili flakes instead of the hot honey.
- Double the recipe – For a large crowd or a holiday party, why not double the recipe! Bake on 2 sheet pans if necessary for the Brussels sprouts to roast up crispy in an even layer.

Storage
Store any leftover roasted brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the fridge for about to 4-5 days. They will become a softer when stored, but still taste great. This holiday side dish can also be frozen for about 4 months.

- 1 pound brussels sprouts washed, stalks trimmed and cut in half
- 3 tablespoon hot honey, or 3 tablespoon honey mixed with 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes or hot sauce
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon sweet paprika powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- chopped parsley for topping

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220C).

Trim the stems of the brussels sprouts, also remove any browned or damaged eaves, and cut in half lengthwise. Add them to a sheet pan.
