In my family we looooove a good cinnamon roll, but the original version takes a long time to make. These air fryer cinnamon rolls are a great small batch recipe that can be made quickly for breakfast or as a snack.

Instructions
Start by making the dough.
Add the greek yoghurt to a mixing bowl. Stir together the flour and baking powder. Pour in 1 cup of the flour mixture and start mixing with a wooden spoon. Gradually add more flour until the dough starts to come together.
Knead the dough by hand on a well floured surface. If your dough is too sticky to work with, add more flour a little at the time. Depending on your flour quality and type of yogurt, you might have to add up to ¼ cups more flour. You want the dough to hold its shape and not to stick to your hands. Knead for about 1-2 min then let it rest for 5 min.
Mix the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
On a well floured surface, roll out your dough to a rectangle shape. The dough will be sticky so this it is very important to be generous with the flour.
Spread the filling onto of the dough in an even layer.
Roll the dough up tight and cut into 8 equal pieces. I like to start by cutting it in the middle for even pieces.
Preheat your air fryer on bake 180C (350F) by running your air fryer for 5 min.
Cut out a pice of parchment paper to fit the bottom of your air fryer and poke small holes in it to let the air circulate. Place the cinnamon rolls in the air fryer basket, living some space in-between them. If you have a small air fryer, you may need to bake the cinnamon rolls in two batches. Brush them lightly with the milk.
Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and baked through. Carefully move them to a cooling rack and top with the optional frosting.
Frosting
Mix together all the ingredients in a small bowl. Add more or less sugar to your taste. Frost the cinnamon rolls when they have cooled down a little. Best served warm.
Variations
- Frosting – This is a light frosting, almost like a glaze. These cinnamon rolls also tastes great without any frosting. If you prefer a creamier cream cheese frosting, go for it!
- Cinnamon – the classic spice in cinnamon rolls, but you can also use half cardamon.
- Sugar – this recipe called for brown sugar, but that can be replaced with coconut sugar or even normal sugar.
Equipment
For this recipe you will need an Air fryer. If your air fryer is a smaller variety, you might need to cook these cinnamon rolls in two batches. Remember to leave some space in-between the rolls so they can expand when baking.
Storage
These air fryer cinnamon rolls are best served freshly baked. If you have any leftovers you can store them in an air tight container or a ziplock bag. They keep for up to two days in room temperature.
Top tip
- The dough can be quite sticky so make sure to flour your surface and rolling pin! If the dough is too sticky to work with, add a little more flour a tablespoon at the time until you have a workable dough.
- It is really important to use a full fat, thick greek yogurt for this recipe. Otherwise the dough will be too sticky to work with.
- Do not preheat the air fryer with the parchment paper, the air will make it fly around and burn!
- Be careful when adding the cinnamon rolls to the preheated air fryer basket so you don’t burn yourself, it will be very hot.
- At the end of the cookie time, check the cinnamon rolls often. They cook fast and you don’t want them to burn.
- The frosting is very light, almost like a glaze. If you like it thicker, add more powder sugar.
