Greek Yoghurt Chocolate Pancakes

January 18, 2019 by Helena Leave a Comment

Light, fluffy and packed with chocolate flavour, these Greek Yoghurt Chocolate Pancakes make an easy and delicious breakfast! Perfect breakfast for a chocolate lover, these pancakes gives you a great reason to get out of bed in the morning.

I know the holidays has just ended and January is usually for healthy eating, but we all have to have a dose of chocolate right?!

These pancakes are healthy-ish. Made with greek yoghurt and no added oil to the batter. But they don’t lack any of the rich chocolate flavor and they are soft, fluffy and moist at the same time from the yoghurt.

Chocolate Greek Yogurt Pancakes

Ingredients to make these Greek Yoghurt Chocolate Pancakes:

  • All purpose flour
  • Cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • Brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • Baking powder and baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • Egg, I always use organic
  • Milk of your choice, I use full fat organic
  • Greek yoghurt (full fat and unsweetened)
  • Butter for frying

Instructions:

Stir together all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together the egg, milk and yoghurt in a separate bowl. Add the dry ingredients and stir just to combine, be careful not to over mix the batter, then you will end up with dense and rubbery pancakes.

In a large skillet melt a little butter and fry the pancakes over medium heat until the bottom is golden brown and bubbles start to form at the top. Flip and cook until golden brown.

Serve this delicious breakfast with whatever you like! Maple syrup, fresh berries and melded chocolate are all good options.
