Chocolate Greek Yoghurt Pancakes

January 18, 2019 by Helena Leave a Comment

These Chocolate Greek Yoghurt Pancakes are light, fluffy and packed with chocolate flavour. They are easy to make and the perfect breakfast for all you chocolate lovers.

Chocolate Greek Yogurt Pancakes

These fluffy greek yogurt pancakes are healthy-ish. Made with greek yoghurt and without added oil or butter in the pancake batter. But they don’t lack any of the rich chocolate flavour, and they are soft, fluffy and moist at the same time from the yoghurt.

Ingredients

Making this chocolate pancake recipe with yogurt is easy and here are the ingredients needed.

  • All-purpose flour
  • Cocoa powder, unsweetened and good quality for the best chocolate flavor.
  • Brown sugar, or coconut sugar
  • Baking powder and baking soda, a mix of the two makes for extra light and fluffy pancakes.
  • Salt, just a little to enhance the flavours.
  • Egg, I always use organic
  • Milk of your choice, I use full fat organic
  • Greek yoghurt (full fat and unsweetened)
  • Butter, for frying these healthy chocolate pancakes.

See recipe card for quantities.

Instructions:

Stir together all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together the egg, milk and yoghurt in a separate bowl. Add the dry ingredients and stir just to combine, be careful not to over mix the batter, then you will end up with dense and rubbery pancakes.

In a large skillet melt a little butter and fry the pancakes over medium heat until the bottom is golden brown and bubbles start to form at the top. Flip and cook until golden brown.

Serve this delicious breakfast with whatever you like! Maple syrup, fresh berries and melded chocolate are all good options.
