It’s cool, refreshing and naturally sweet using ingredients you usually have at home so you can easily whip these smoothies up any time the craving sets in. It’ll definitely become a new family favorite!
Fredagsmys is a Swedish tradition for families with kids. The word origins from two words; “fredag” and “mys”, which translates to Friday and cozy. For everyone who wants a calm and cozy Friday night at home after a long week with some good snacks, fredagsmys it is. That is what we are doing tonight, watching a movie after dinner with some healthy snacks and these fresh Strawberry Banana Smoothies. It’s the perfect lazy Friday night if you ask me!
For this recipe I used fresh strawberries because they are in season and oh so sweet right now. If strawberries are not in season, you can add frozen ones instead. You might want to ad a little honey if the strawberries are not as sweet.
For the best result, one of the fruits should be frozen for a cold and creamy smoothie. I used frozen banana, just slice and keep in the freezer until you get the smoothie craving. It is a good idea to let them thaw for for a few minutes before you blend the smoothie to make it easier for the blender.
The smoothies also taste great for a snack or a healthy breakfast drink!
Happy weekend!
- 500 grams strawberries, fresh or frozen
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
- 3 deciliters greek yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar (or a few drops of extract)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
-
Let the bananas thaw for for a few minutes. Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. If the texture is too thick, add a little water.
One of the fruits should be frozen for the best result. So if using frozen strawberries you can use fresh bananas.
Enjoy!
