These delicious and easy Strawberry Banana Smoothies are made from fresh and healthy ingredients. It’s cool, refreshing and naturally sweet using just a few ingredients. They are easy to whip up any time the craving sets in and a family favorite!
For this recipe I used fresh strawberries because they are in season and oh so sweet right now. If strawberries are not in season, you can add frozen ones instead just like in this Strawberry banana apple smoothie. You might want to ad a little honey or maple syrup if the strawberries are not as sweet.
The smoothie tastes great for a snack or a healthy breakfast drink just like these Strawberry mango peach smoothie this Peach Blueberry Smoothie or this Watermelon Smoothie.

Hint: Depending on how ripe and sweet the fruit and strawberries is, taste the smoothie and add a little extra maple syrup if needed.
Substitutions and Variations
- Vegan – Use a plant based yoghurt, I always use unsweetened.
- Oats – Add a few tablespoons of oat flour to the smoothie before blending or a more filling smoothie.
- Protein – For a protein packed smoothie, add a little of your favourite protein powder to the blender. You might have to add a little extra liquid if it gets too thick.

Equipment
Use a high power blender to give this smoothie a smooth and creamy consistency. Another tip is to chop the frozen fruit and let it defrost for a few minutes if your blender is that powerful.
Storage
Smoothies always tastes best when served immediately. Then they are cold and creamy. If stored the frozen fruit will melt and the smoothie will become a little thinner, but still have the same delicious flavor.
My top tip for storing smoothies in the fridge are:
- Store it in a glass container with an airtight lid.
- Fill the container to the very top! This will prevent air to enter and with that unwanted oxidation that will affect the nutrients and also the color of your smoothies.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice to your smoothie, this will help keep it fresh and tasty for the next day.
This Strawberry banana smoothie can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days if stored correctly. You will need to stir it well since the smoothie will separate when stored. Always smell your smoothie to make sure it is still fresh before drinking.
Top Tip
For the best result, one of the fruits should be frozen for a cold and creamy smoothie. I used frozen banana, just slice and keep in the freezer until you get the smoothie craving. It is a good idea to let them thaw for a few minutes before you blend the smoothie to make it easier for the blender.
