Strawberry Almond Tart (Vegan and Gluten-free)

I love a good pie, but sometimes there is a lot of steps involved. This healthier Strawberry Almond Tart is both Vegan and Gluten-free and really easy to make! No need to chill the dough, roll it out and pre bake it. Just mix the dough together and press it out with your fingers, add the strawberry filling and bake. It is that easy!

Strawberry Almond Tart (Vegan and Gluten-free)

Ingredients:

Crust:
  • Almond flour, almond meal can also be used for a little courser texture.
  • Oat flour, use a certified gluten-free brand if you want to make this tart gluten-free
  • Baking powder, for a little puff in the crust
  • Pinch of salt
  • Coconut oil, I use an organic brand
  • Creamy almond butter, my homemade Pecan Almond Butter the added hint of pecan flavour goes so well in this tart.
  • Maple syrup, agave syrup or other liquid sweetener can also be used. For non vegan you can use honey
Filling:
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Corn starch 
  • Maple syrup, agave syrup or other liquid sweetener can also be used.
  • Sliced almonds for topping

Strawberry Almond Tart (Vegan and Gluten-free)

Instructions:

Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven and lightly grease a tart dish with removable bottom.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and then add the solid coconut oil, almond butter and honey and mix. Using your hands is easiest. Press the dough evenly in the prepared tart pan.

Filling:

  1. Mix the sliced strawberries with the honey and corn starch. Pour into the prepared crust and leave any juices in the bowl to not make the crust soggy.
  2. Top with sliced almonds and bake. Check the tart half way and lightly cover with foil if it is getting too dark.
  3. Let cool and then serve with coconut whipped creme or ice cream.

Strawberry Almond Tart (Vegan and Gluten-free)

This Strawberry Almond Tart is Vegan and Gluten-free, really easy to make and healthy! It has a no chill and no roll dough and filled with sweet strawberries.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • ½ cup oat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp creamy almond butter
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
Filling
  • 3 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1-2 tablespoon sliced almonds for topping
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F)

    Lightly grease a 22 cm (9 inch) tart dish with removable bottom.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and then add the solid coconut oil, almond butter and honey and mix. Using your hands is easiest. Press the dough evenly in the prepared tart pan.

Filling
  1. Mix the sliced strawberries with the honey and corn starch. Pour into the prepared crust and leave any juices in the bowl to not make the crust soggy.

  2. Top with sliced almonds and bake for about 40 minutes. Check the tart half way and lightly cover with foil if it is getting too dark.

  3. Let cool and then serve with coconut whipped chreme or ice cream.
