These Chocolate strawberry overnight oats make a healthy and delicious breakfast. Loaded with wholesome ingredients and perfect for meal prep. Filled with the best combo of chocolate and sweet summer strawberry flavour.

The strawberry chocolate overnight oats are loaded with chocolate flavor and studded with either fresh, or frozen strawberries. Using frozen strawberries is both cost efficient, delicious and nutritious. This way you can make this nutrient-packed breakfast all year round, not just when strawberries are in season. Much like this Blueberry overnight oats.
These Strawberry and chocolate chips overnight oats make an excellent meal prep. Another one of my favourites for breakfast meal prep, is this Cherry overnight oats or this Banana Chocolate Overnight Oats.

- Strawberries, chopped, fresh or frozen. If using frozen strawberries, add them frozen to the overnight oats, they will defrost slowly in the fridge.

- Greek style yoghurt, unsweetened and preferably full fat for a creamier consistency.
- Maple syrup, or other liquid sweetener or brown sugar to taste depending on how sweet you like the oats.
- Vanilla extract, for a wonderful hint of vanilla.
- Rolled oats, or old fashion oats for texture and a little bite to this recipe. Use certified gluten-free oats if needed.
- Cocoa powder, unsweetened and good quality for a rich chocolate flavor.
- Chia seeds, they are high in fibre, antioxidants, protein and help create creamy texture to this blueberry muffin overnight oats recipe.
- Salt, just a little to balance the flavours.

Substitutions
- Chocolate – I used dark chocolate chips, use your favourite, milk, dark or even white chocolate, or leave them out completely. Cocoa nibs or some chopped chocolate are other great options.
- Berries – This overnight oats recipe uses strawberries, but other berries can also be used. Some good options are blueberries, raspberries or a mix of berries like in this Berry cheesecake overnight oats recipe.
- Sweetness – Depending on the sweetness of the strawberries, add some extra maple syrup. Some other options to maple syrup is agave syrup, brown sugar or coconut sugar. Honey can also be used for a non vegan breakfast.
- Nut butter – Stir in, or top with a little nut butter of choice for some extra protein. Use store bough or why not try this homemade Strawberry cashew butter.
- No fresh strawberries? No problem, use frozen strawberries or strawberry jam. Try this healthy strawberry chia jam or these Roasted strawberries.
Variations
- Gluten-free – Oats are naturally gluten-free, but can contain traces of gluten from being processed. To ensure this strawberry and double chocolate overnight oats recipe is gluten-free, buy only certified gluten-free oats. They can usually be found in the gluten-free section at your local grocery store.
- Extra protein – Stir in 1 tablespoon protein powder for some extra added protein in these overnight oats.
- Vegan – For vegan strawberry chocolate overnight oats recipe, use a plant-based milk, yoghurt and chocolate chips.
Storage
This Strawberries and chocolate chip overnight oats makes a great meal-prep breakfast. It can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
After being stored a few days in the fridge, the overnight oats will have thicker consistency, because the rolled oats will continue to soak up liquid. For a looser consistency, stir in a little milk before serving.
Overnight oats doesn’t freeze well, so I don’t recommend this.
Top Tip
For extra strawberry flavor, add a layer of this strawberry chia jam or some of these flavor packed Roasted strawberries.
FAQ
Yes, using frozen strawberries is a great and budget friendly option to fresh strawberries. No need to defrost them before adding them to this recipe, they will slowly defrost with the overnight oats.
