Substitutions and Variations
- Vegan – For a vegan smoothie, use a plant based milk, like almond or oat milk.
- Peaches – Instead of peaches replace with other stone fruit like nectarines or apricots.
- Strawberries – the strawberries can be replaced with any other berry of choice, blueberries or raspberries are two good choices.
- Oats – Add a 2 tablespoons of quick cooking oats to the blender with the other ingredient for or a more filling smoothie.
- Protein – Add a little of your favourite protein powder to the blender. You might have to add a little extra liquid if it gets too thick.

Equipment
You will need a bender to make this strawberry mango peach smoothie. I use a high power blender to get it really smooth and creamy. A high speed food processor will also work, but the texture might not be as smooth.
Storage
Smoothies always taste best and have the highest nutrients directly when they are made. But you can also keep any leftovers, or make a double batch for the next day.
My top tips for keeping a smoothie fresh for longer are:
- Store it in a glass container with an airtight lid. Also important is to
- Fill the container to the very top! This will prevent air to enter and with that unwanted oxidation that will affect the nutrients and also the color of your smoothies.
- Add a squeeze of lemon or orange juice to your smoothie, this will help keep it fresh and tasty for the next day.
- Stir the smoothie well since it tend to separate when stored.
- Always smell your stored smoothie to make sure it is still fresh before drinking.
Generally, smoothies keep for 1-2 days in the fridge if stored correctly.
Top tip
Let the frozen fruit defrost for a few minutes, this makes it easier for the blender to mix everything up smooth.
